9-8 ROAD, LAKE, AND DUNE
Well, I ran 22:48 at road lake and dune. It was another reminder of how this year is similar to my sophomore year, as I ran the same exact time back then. It wasn't a bad race. I tried to shorten my stride. I think maybe I should have gone a little harder on the trail, because I could not go fast on the sand. I just don't know how. I was pushing to go hard, but I couldn't go very fast and it didn't feel strenuous. It was really frustrating. Similar to last year. The sand seemed to sink a lot more than it did last year. I want to be way faster than sophmore year. I'm going to keep working. Will beat me. It shouldn't bother me, but it does somewhat. I really want to be varsity, and feel like I've put in the time to make it. I know varsity is completely based on time. I guess I was fired up when he passed me, but I couldn't catch him. I shouldn't get mad at him, though. That'd be stupid. Whoever is better is better. I just really want to be varsity, at least one year. I'll just keep working hard and end up where I end up. I didn't exactly feel tired at the end of the run. The sand screws me up. Oh well. Onward. I felt okay for the race. Maybe I could have started moving a little faster midway.
